During the summer the weather is so inviting and it is tempting to be going all day long. However the warmer weather also leads to certain medical issues. Not to worry there are many ways to avoid and prepare for these possible issues. While the sunny weather may have you wanting to go out at noon it is much better to avoid strenuous activity in those hottest parts of the day. Better times would be the early morning or the evenings. Another easy way to avoid summer injuries is to remain well hydrated. This can be the thing that prevents heat stress and even heat stroke. And even if you are remaining hydrated it is important to know the signs of dehydration and heat stress.

These include nausea, dizziness, irregular heartbeats and cramping. If you are exhibiting these symptoms make sure to hydrate and find some shade to cool off seeing as this can lead to heat stroke or exhaustion. It is very important to drink at least 8-12 ounces of water before strenuous activity and to not wait until you are thirsty at that is a sign you are already dehydrated. With high temperatures and humidity the way that your body cools is much less effective and it becomes even more important to replace those fluids. You must also replace the electrolytes that help to maintain normal heart rhythms to reduce strain on the heart. It is also vital that you dress appropriately for whatever activities you have planned. Following these few simple rules will give you a leg up over these potential medical issues.
